You know what I love? Community, creativity and conservation. Luckily for me, all three come together right at my front door with the 10th Avenue Bikeway, a shared route for bikes, pedestrians and cars. But the Bikeway is more than just a dedicated transportation lane, it's evolved into an eclectic corridor that invites neighbours to share with each other and express themselves.

When I first moved into Mount Pleasant 14 years ago, everything had to be bolted down or it would be gone. Neighbours weren’t on a first name basis, and people didn’t share anything, Now my neighbours want a communal vehicle for the ‘hood.

Confession time: I’m ambivalent about chickens. I want them, but I’m not rushing into it.I should have chickens, I feel pressure to have chickens, but, well, they crap everywhere, and let’s face it, they are descendants of dinosaurs. That makes me nervous.
